Michael Vick puts God-First in new TV show

February 11, 2010

Excerpt from The Christian Post,

“Pro-football player Michael Vick got two unique shots this past week to reveal to the public how 18 months in prison and his newfound faith has made him a new man – a different man.  On Saturday, during the Super Bowl Breakfast, Vick shared with some 1,100 people about the role that faith played in his life after pleading guilty to a federal charge of conspiracy and involvement in the killing of at least six dogs following a raid of his property in 2007.  He also talked about how God was again the first priority in his life and how he doesn’t want to disappoint his family or those who took a chance with him – particularly NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and former Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Tony Dungy, who Vick has previously attributed to having “helped redefine me as an individual.” “God has blessed with a second chance that is something I will value forever,” Vick stated, according to Baptist Press. “I don’t want to let Him down.”  Continue reading here.”

You have got to be kidding. Vick is nothing but words, some coming straight from his high priced legal and PR team. He has done nothing but give excuses and talk about how things impacted him. Well how does he think what he did impacted the innocent dogs he tortured and killed? It is all for show, he talks, his show etc. It is interesting that his BET show is co produced by his own production company. This certainly allows him to show the public only what he wants them to see and hear. There will be no true picture of what he did, instead of pictures of him, he should be showing pictures of the dogs he killed and the ones rescued and the wounds they had. It is well know that people who abuse/kill animals often go on to do the same with people. It is also funny how when individuals get in trouble they find GOD. Where was Vicks faith when he was killing dogs? Vick has a long history of bad and illegal behavior….tortured & killed dogs, bank rolled dog fighting ring, interstate gambling and money laundering, failed drug tests, stole for pension, spread STDs, filed bankruptcy, suspected in the murder of 2 people, suspected steroid use, children out of wedlock with multiple women….

Personally, I’m very thankful that God gives 2nd chances, and sometimes many more. Like Michael above, I don’t want to let Him down.
