Two Pentagon police officers were shot when Jon Patrick Bedell went on a  shooting spree.  Both officers shot back and killed Bedell.   Officer Jefferey Amos who took a bullet in the sholder told the Associated Press, “I just thank the Lord that He shielded me when all of this took place.”.  The assailant was believed to be mentally insane.  More here.
