Critics Rating: 72%
MPAA Rating: PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action
Catholic News Rating:  A-II — adults and adolescents.

Plot:  Captain America — After being deemed unfit for military service, Steve Rogers volunteers for a top secret research project that turns him into Captain America, a superhero dedicated to defending America’s ideals.

Reason to Like: “And yet there’s an inescapable optimism here, a goodness. Captain America tells us that muscles and nifty shields are great and all, but true heroism comes from within.” (PluggedInOnline) and “delivers an inspiring patriotic punch. Steve Rogers is a hero for everyone, a hero to cheer for.”(Movie Guide.org)

Reason to Dislike: “The film has a few troublesome problems, including its love of wall-to-wall violence and the fact that our main hero is partly the product of”  (PluggedInOnline)  and “There is some foul language, however. Also, when Red Skull reveals his deformed face, younger children may find that scary”. (Movie Guide.org)
