Girls only prom hosted for Muslim student
A Muslim High School in Michigan, Tharima Ahmed, found a way to attend prom without violating her customs that restrict interactions with boys. Her solution was to host an all-girls prom. It turned out to be a success as over 120 students participated. Tharima Ahmed told ABC News that everyone kept syaing it should be done, ‘We should have a prom, we should have a prom, we should have a prom,’ but no one ever got together to do it. … This group of girls is very driven, and so they decided they really wanted it and they were going to do it.”Even a prom queen was crowned.
