Professor Christopher Meade speaks at Portland Center near Tigard on Sept. 21
By George Fox University
The public is invited to a free presentation, “Financially Alive: Wealth Creation, Social Responsibility, Biblical Values,” scheduled from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at George Fox University’s Portland Center on Friday, Sept. 21.
The event, the latest installment of the School of Business’ Speaker Series, will feature Christopher Meade, director of George Fox’s MBA programs and an assistant professor of management at the university. In his presentation, Meade addresses the question, “We are living in times of unprecedented change and a shifting of the global economy. Is it possible to not just survive but actually thrive in this new economy?”
Based on Meade’s latest book, Financially Alive: Wealth Creation. Social Responsibility. Biblical Values, the workshop is a mix of ancient wisdom literature, modern MBA business thinking, and 21st-century leadership principles. Meade’s talk on finances comes alive with his use of “white board scribbles” – visual, image-based original whiteboard artwork – throughout his presentation.
The Portland Center is located near Tigard at 12753 S.W. 68th Ave., in Portland. Those interested in attending are asked to R.S.V.P. by Sept. 14 by filling out a registration form at this link. More information is available by visiting the Web page or calling Darla Norgren at 503-554-6176. The event includes free coffee and tea.
According to event organizers, the session is geared toward people who want to grow personally, expand professionally, increase financially, and deepen spiritually so they can maximize their potential, live life with passion, and serve and lead with purpose.
Meade is a speaker, author, professor, pastor, entrepreneur, musician and life coach. He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in organizational leadership from George Fox and earned a second master’s degree in Christian ministry from Northwest Nazarene University. He holds a PhD from the University of Idaho in adult education and organizational learning with a concentration in leadership.
In addition to his role at George Fox, Meade serves as president of LeadershipAlive.com, a nonprofit organization that helps inspire, coach and resource emerging leaders. He has been a life and leadership coach to a wide range of individuals and teams in small businesses, nonprofits, churches and various private-sector companies.
