The Ecce Homo fresco painting of Christ in the Spanish town of Madrid was showing signs of serious deterioration from its 1930’s painting. An restoration artists was commissioned to fix the art, but ended up making it horrifically worse.

The world’s worst restoration job is now a fame unto itself. You can how it has spurned parodies, t-shirts and now Halloween costumes. The Ecce Homo painting which means “Behold the Man” is now being called Ecce Mono “Behold the Monkey”
