UofP hosts screening of award winning pilgrimage film

University of Portland offers free screening of popular documentary “Walking the Camino: Six Ways to Santiago,” set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29
A free screening of the popular documentary “Walking the Camino: Six Ways to Santiago” is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29 in the Bauccio Commons on the University of Portland campus, 5000 N. Willamette Blvd.

This multiple award winning film has been selling out screenings around the world. It concerns six individuals driven to follow the 1,000 year old tradition of walking the 500 miles across northern Spain, using the famous pilgrim path to Santiago de Compostela. The movie will be followed by a panel discussion with UP Spanish professor and film director Kate Regan, and Garaventa Center co-director Karen Eifler, with Lydia B. Smith, the Portland-based director and producer of the documentary.

The free showing is co-sponsored by the Garaventa Center for Catholic Intellectual Life and American Culture, Portland Magazine and International Languages.
