GLADSTONE – A 16-year old boy died yesterday whose Gladstone parents who are members of the faith-healing church Followers of Christ which emphasize prayer over medical treatment. His illness was related to adominal pains and breathing problems and has been suffering from it for more than a week. The boy’s cousin died last March from bronchial pneumonia and a blood inffection. This issue is bound to restart the debate over faith and mandatory medical treatment laws.
