[5]Portland clergy critical Obama budget, military spending

OPB has an article [6] on a collection of Portland ministers and a local rabbi that are opposing the Obama budget for spending too much on the military. Reverend Mark Knutson of Augustana Lutheran Church, “In faith communities, on this corner, and every corner across this nation, we deal with the ravages of war. While some who romanticize it go home to comfortable homes at night, we have those who’ve been devastated by warfare coming to our houses of worship daily, seeking some kind of support in society that is forgotten.”
Of the churches and synagouges represented were the 1st Unitarian Church of Portland; Havurah Shalom Community; Augustana Lutheran Church and the Ainsworth United Church of Christ.
