If it is true what Pat is saying then the leaders of that time have sold out to the Devil, You have to understand that God id a righteous God and will not force His will upon a nation, though turning against God has severe consequenses, as we read through scripture as Israel being an example.

Making a deal with the Devil is nothing new, the Devil wanted to make a pact with Jesus, Matt 4:8 Again, the devil took Him up on a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory (the splendor, magnificence, preeminence, and excellence) of them.
Matt 4:9 And he said to Him, These things, all taken together, I will give You, if You will prostrate Yourself before me and do homage {and} worship me.
Matt 4:10 Then Jesus said to him, Begone, Satan! For it has been written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him alone shall you serve.

Haiti has not done so, at least the leaders of that time, so they need help and this is a oppertune time, for them to seek and find MERCY from God and confess their misstake. 2 Chr 7:14 If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, {and} require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.

Let us Pray as Israel did when they needed God MERCY

Ps 79:5 How long, O Lord? Will You be angry forever? Shall Your jealousy [which cannot endure a divided allegiance] burn like fire?
Ps 79:6 Pour out Your wrath on the Gentile nations who do not acknowledge You, and upon the kingdoms that do not call on Your name.
Ps 79:7 For they have devoured Jacob and laid waste his dwelling {and} his pasture.
Ps 79:8 O do not [earnestly] remember against us the iniquities {and} guilt of our forefathers! Let Your compassion {and} tender mercy speedily come to meet us, for we are brought very low.
Ps 79:9 Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of Your name! Deliver us, forgive us, {and} purge away our sins for Your name’s sake.

Paul January 21, 2010

This guy is a disgrace and gives Christians a black eye. He should keep these outrageous comments to himself and the poor deluded folks that follow him.

Sam January 21, 2010

I have a friend with a missionary cousin in the north part of the island. The cousin reports that the national religion of Haiti is voodooism. If that’s not devil-worship, I would like to know what is.

John January 21, 2010

Sometimes I think as Paul does that comments such as these should be privately expressed. On the other hand, he has as much right to express his opinion publicly as does Oprah, right? Or anyone else for that matter; at least so far in this country.

john January 21, 2010

I HOPE HE BURNS IN HELL ALONG WITH EVERY PERSON THAT FOLLOWS THIS PIECE OF SHIT. HE IS THE DEVIL HIMSELF. NO TRUE BELIEVER IN CHRIST WOULD SAY WHAT HE SAID OR SUPPORT WHAT THIS DEMON SAID. IF YOU SUPPORT HIM YOU ARE SUPPORTING THE DEVIL. BURN IN HELL PAT BURN IN HELL.

Dan January 21, 2010

For God to take the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and, on top of that, smash it to bits seems a little extreme. The abject poverty alone is hellish.

I always thought a deal with the devil results in fame, riches and the other temptations of the world (read Jesus desert experience). Wall Street, the LA porn industry, or the inner circles of political power seem like more likely venues for deals with the chief demon.

Pat ought to preface ALL his comments with the disclaimer, “This is the opinion of an old codger who has spent way too much time in the spotlight and is enamored by the sound of his own voice.”

Sara January 21, 2010

Really Sam? Your source is a cousin of a friend? Haitians are largely Christian, most are Catholic. You can use the Internet to post your comment but can’t take two seconds to fact check your ridiculous assumptions?

I can understand Pat Robertson not fact checking his statements because he’s as old as his outdated ideology and probably doesn’t know how to use the Internet.

John is right, people have every right to express their opinions. However, when you express your opinion as fact to millions of people who believe it to be truth, in order to make money off of it, I would argue THAT is making a “pact with the devil”.

This Guy January 22, 2010

Hey Sam, maybe it would surprise you but Haiti’s largest religious following is indeed christianity (Not Voodoo) but I guess that wouldn’t fit your religious rhetoric. Stop making stuff up. Your religion is losing favor and all you seem to do is point fingers and make extraordinary statements just like Robertson. And you wonder why people are losing interest in your cult? Furthermore you guys seem to think that god is a part of everything you do. Well on behalf of those who think you bible thumpers are full of shit, stop trying to project your beliefs unto others. Keep your faith to yourself and stop pointing fingers at others.

I think it is reprehensible that someone of his stature would make such outlandish claims at this time. What are his sources? And even so, it is not the people there now who made would have made such a pact. This is not the first time that he has made such irresponsible claims, remember Katrina and 9/11? I don’t so much blame him, I blame anyone who is idiotic enough to give him a forum to speak from. Anyone out there who watches him, I am talking to you. You are the ones making a pact with the devil. Repent I say, and lets get this coot off the air once and for all.
