Local Catholic students win national awards
Faith News Note: Two Oregon Catholic students won top national honors in a writing award by the National Council of Teachers of English. Even though Catholic schools in Oregon make up a small portion of the student percentage,, this year they made up 2 of the 5 winners for Oregon in the 2011 Achievement Awards in Writing. The winners are Elizabeth Shew,Valley Catholic High School in Beaverton and Alexandra Lohman St. Mary’s School in Medford.
