Portland pastors form gang funeral compact 

Over two dozen Portland pastors held a press conference announcing new standards at funerals to ward off gang attacks and to protect the sanctity of the deceased. A few year ago when two Portland teens open fired at a funeral of a rival gang member. The pastors formed a coalition and created a compact for funeral guidelines when it comes to services for gang related deaths. The new funeral code outlaws gang colors and inappropriate music and language featured during the service. Dr. T Allen Bethel with Maranatha Church said, “We’ve gathered to say, ‘we are together to serve you and we want you to be safe from all the intimidation whenever you come to a service in the houses of faith”
