Gresham biz refuses same-sex wedding cake request. Ag investigates.

A Gresham Wedding Cake business is refusing to make a cake for a same-sex wedding. The refusal has landed the owner in a lawsuit involving the Oregon Department of Justice. The story has gone national.

This is his business, he can conduct or deny business with any person or group. This is private business and does not need to follow State of Federal discrimination laws. It is the owner’s first amendment rights.

Sure he can. And in my business, I can refuse to serve them because they are classless and dressed like they just rolled out of bed. But would I? Heck no. We live in a world where anyone can say anything on the internet and we all know it can take just minutes to go global. She didn’t want a lesbian cake, she wanted a cake. He could have just said he was out of two women figures for the top. He made a big mistake Too bad because small businesses are tough. He hurt and humiliated those two women. He can just get himself a sign that says “no shirt, no shoes, no same sex couples, no service.” Spare everyone.
