Sour revenge flick in which a paroled convict (Dwayne Johnson) hunts down and slays those responsible for his brother’s death at the hands of a rival gang. On his trail are a scrofulous drug-addicted detective (Billy Bob Thornton) and a suave British assassin (Oliver Jackson-Cohen). Director George Tillman Jr. and screenwriters Tony and Joe Gayton assemble a series of foul cliches and then just let the actors rip. Multiple scenes of murderous revenge, slow-motion gun and knife violence, drug use, some profane and crude language.
O — morally offensive. (R) 2010
