As many of you know, I’ve written a novel based on the screenplay of the new movie Courageous, which is being released in theaters on September 30. The movie was done by the Kendrick brothers, Stephen and Alex, who produced Fireproof.
Courageous centers on police officers and fatherhood and, not surprisingly, COURAGE for men in their homes and personal lives. It’s a powerful movie, and I believe God will use it to touch countless lives and to encourage many fathers to step up to the plate.
Fathers are their children’s first pastors—the most influential humans in terms of life direction. Children are shaped by their father’s love or hate, interest or disinterest, presence or absence.
Fatherhood is a calling, and far more important than any vocation. Our children and grandchildren are an ongoing investment, a gift we leave to a world we won’t continue to be part of, but which we will impact for eternity through the generations that follow.
In this 5-minute video, Courageous cast members and partner ministry leaders talk about the impact of dads in their children’s lives.
