2011 gives three cases of banning God Bless You
By Guest Opinion,
In California where a school teacher has banned the word “Bless You” as a response when people sneeze. The teacher started by penalizing students grades for saying God Bless You when other students sneezed by stating it was disrespectful and disruptive (see video below). Another “God Bless You” ban occurred in Houston recently this summer. The National Cemetery in Houston issued a cemetery policy that banned religious words like “God Bless You” and “In Jesus Name”. Houston pastors in the area started a protest. In Florida’s Santa Rosa School District, the school had previously banned the words “God Bless You” but in 2011 decided to lift the ban.
