In a sad moment for media fairness and temperance, several news outlets have decided to promote their news stories on Mormonism by using open ridicule. First, it was Newsweek which put Romney”s face on the Broadway musical poster, Book of Mormon, which is a comedic satire that rips the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints. Could you imagine Newsweek treating the Dalai Lama or an Islamic cleric under the same pose? This week, the latest media mistreatment came from the cover of Businessweek which used Jesus as a joke item. LDS spokesman has rightfully criticized the cover saying “The Bloomberg Businessweek cover is in such poor taste it is difficult to even find the words to comment on it.”. Well said.
