Portland thrives with Jewish Hollywood talent

Oregon Jewish Life magazine has just done a wonderful profile on the Portland Jewish Community and its connection to Hollywood. Carrie Brownstein from the series Portlandia lives in Portland and has been listed by Tablet magazine as one of the city’s best known Jews.” The popular run of Portlandia has put Portland on the national showcase. Thank to TV series like Leverage and Grimm, it is helping to bring talent from the around the county to reside in Portland with many of them having spiritual ties. Working in Leverage is Gina Bellman who attended the largest Jewish school in London and also acted in a movie about King David. Sasha Roiz has been playing in the NBC series Grimm which has become a huge boost for Oregon. Sasha was born in Israel. The Jewish Life Magazine also gives tribute to Oregon’s most famous celebrity, Mel voice of Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, and hundreds of other Hollywood characters.
