Mormons may have their first blockbuster

Oregon Faith News Note,

The Mormon based film, ‘Saratov Approach’ may prove to be the first Mormon blockbuster film. According to Variety Magazine, the independent film has grossed a half million dollars on only 23 screens in just two weeks. That is a great sign of a small film netting big rewards. The surge is primarily occurring in Mormon screening areas in Utah, but provides a great launching point for wider release. The film is based on a compelling real-life story in 1988 of Mormon missionaries, Travis Tuttle & Andrew Propst, who were kidnapped, tortured and held hostage in Saratov, Russia. Below is the trailer for the film Saratov Approach.
