Duck Dynasty alcohol snub similiar to Charlton Heston

Family Ministries has canceled a speaking invitation to Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson. The ministry said they could not in good faith have an audience of teens recovering from alcohol and drugs hear a speaker who has their own wine business — it just was not a good fit. This is similar to when an Alabama Christian school dis-invited Charlton Heston after they saw him be featured in a Bud Light Commercial. See story, see TV ad. For Family Ministries they had to cancel the Duck Dynasty event and refund ticket holders. Family Ministries said, “Our greatest responsibility is to the young people we serve. Therefore, we feel that in light of the recent news, to continue with this event would send mixed messages to the young people who go through our Adolescent Drug and Alcohol program. Our message must be consistent. The lives of those children may well hang in the balance. We certainly apologize to the people who have already purchased tickets, and pray they understand our position.”Below is Fox News video on the Duck Dynasty event.
