Governor line-items vetoes spending on prostitution study

By Taxpayers Association of Oregon

Oregon Governor Tina Kotek did a great this week. Kotek used her budget veto to strip out a portion of a spending bill (SB 5506) that allocated $500,000 of tax dollars to OHSU to study legalizing prostitution. Kotek also vetoed the portion where $100,000 would have gone to the Oregon Criminal Justice Commission to study legalizing prostitution.

This was a huge waste of taxpayer dollars and a solid decision by the Governor.
