Archdiocese announces new direction for Catholic Education

Archdiocese of Portland
Press Release,

The Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon is pleased to announce an exciting and transformational new direction for Catholic education and Catholic schools in western Oregon. Our goal is to integrate our Catholic schools more deeply into the evangelizing mission of each parish and the wider archdiocesan Church.
In pursuit of this goal, we welcome Elias Moo (eh-LEE-us MOE) as the Director of Catholic Education in the newly formed Office for the Mission of Catholic Education, effective January 2024. Archbishop Alexander K. Sample is commissioning Elias to help renew and reform our Catholic schools and other Catholic educational efforts within the archdiocese.

Elias is nationally recognized as a visionary leader in the realignment of Catholic education with the mind and heart of the Church and our rich educational heritage.

Elias and his family are relocating to Portland from Denver. He will start in January 2024. We are so blessed that Elias and his family are enthusiastic about coming here to western Oregon to begin something new. Please keep them in your prayers. Please see a letter from Elias to you, the people of the archdiocese.
