Bend is helping their homeless vets during dire winter season

A church in Bend has donated more than 1,200 pairs of socks and more than 140 cases of Spam to the Central Oregon Veterans Outreach for distribution to those who need them, according to KTVZ. Holy Communion Church has worked for a decade with the Veterans Outreach organization to assist those who served, especially as temperatures drop and threaten the health and safety of homeless veterans. A veteran who wanted to give back during the holiday season organized the first efforts to collaborate.
