Oregon Christian Colleges adapt

Multnomah University in Portland recently merged with Jessup University out of California.

Warner Pacific University, a Christian college in Southeast Portland, recently sold a 16-unit apartment building it rents to students for housing. The university plans to use the funds to invest in their online learning programs to boost enrollment. Before the pandemic Warner Pacific’s enrollment was 850 students and is now 700 students.

Small private universities across Oregon are experiencing critical drops in enrollment.

For instance, Marylhurst University closed in 2018, Oregon College of Art and Craft closed in 2019 and Concordia University closed in 2020.
