Fast Facts
– The 6.8-mile procession will depart from St. Mary at 2pm and will process through downtown Eugene, Alton Baker Park via the North Bank Trail, and downtown Springfield to St. Alice.
– There will be multiple stops along the way including the Lane County Jail, Church of the Nativity, and the Springfield Municipal Jail.
— Eugene Police and Springfield Police will provide traffic detail on city streets, but there be no official escort while on the North Bank Trail; however, St. Alice is coordinating a visible escort to enhance safety and security.
— Per Eugene Parks and Open Space, there can be no bullhorns or other loud audibles within the Whilmut Natural Area.
— St. Alice will coordinate water stations at the entrance to Alton Baker Park and at the exit near Aspen Street in Springfield.
— Parish groups are welcome to carry religious art or banners during the procession promoting their group.
Transportation & Route
The approved route covers 6.8-miles from St. Mary to St. Alice. It’s not necessary to commit to the entire route. Everyone is invited to walk a section as he/she is able; however, participants are responsible for transportation to and from starting and ending points.
— St. Alice is exploring a possible shuttle service to coordinate transportation from St. Alice to the following stops on the route:
— St. Alice to St. Mary (start of route)
— St. Alice to Ukrainian Church of the Nativity (last two miles of route)
