There is a small town Florida pastor, Terry Jones of the Dove World Outreach Center, who is planning a Burn the Quran Day on 9-11 as his plan to draw attention to his fight against Islam. This bad public relations move has inflamed anger around the world especially in Afghanistan for which puts our troops at risk. There is no greater chance at protecting religious freedom in Afghanistan than if U.S. troops can secure Democracy. Not all Christians have the same calling as Pastor Jones, some have a calling to do what Jesus said by feeding the poor and healing the sick. These aid workers and missionaries now find themselves at risk because of Mr. Jones’ Burn Quran Day. I cannot think of a more stupid and reckless act.
