Tualatin teens who set church fire get sentences
By Guest Submission

Final sentences have been handed down on two teenage boys who were charged with setting fire to the Tualatin Living Savior Lutheran Church last march.   One boy pleaded guilty top arson while the other pled guilty only to burglary (he said he only broke into the church to steal and had no idea of the fire until his friend started it).    To that the judge sentenced him to five years probation.   At the hearing, Church representative Catherine Dexter issued a statement saying,  “Our hope is that the boys grow up, that they’ll take this seriously and they’ll become mature, happy, healthy young men. And through this there can be some redemption for them.”
